Join Our Team and Help Transform the Lives of Cats on Paros and Antiparos

Are you passionate about animal welfare and ready to make a real difference? We’re hiring for two exciting roles as part of our growing Community Cat Care Project on the Cycladic islands of Paros and Antiparos. We'd love to hear from you if you're ready to roll up your sleeves, connect with local communities, and be part of one of Greece’s most ambitious cat population management projects.

🐾 About the Project

Launched in 2023, our Community Cat Care Project is the largest of its kind in Greece. Funded by Battersea Dogs & Cats Home and supported by the municipalities of Paros and Antiparos, this innovative initiative uses a humane, data-driven approach to address stray cat overpopulation through Capture-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return (CNVR), community engagement, and education.

From treating injured cats to educating tourists and residents about responsible care, every day brings new opportunities to make a positive impact. Now, we’re looking for two dedicated individuals to join our team on the ground:

🧰 Position 1: Project Assistant

📍 Location: Paros or Antiparos
📅 Contract: Part-time (24 hours/week) from May 1st, 2025, for 5 months
🚗 Driver’s license required

In this hands-on role, you’ll support the Project Coordinator and our wider team with day-to-day CNVR operations. That includes humanely trapping cats, coordinating with vets, transporting animals, returning them post-surgery, and engaging with the community to promote sustainable cat care practices.

This job is for someone who’s calm under pressure, a great communicator, and comfortable working directly with animals. Full training is provided, and you’ll be part of a close-knit, supportive team.

📧 Send your CV and a short cover letter (max 300 words) to flora@animalactiongreece.org

📋 Position 2: Community Engagement & Education Lead

📍 Location: Paros or Antiparos
🗣 Languages: Fluency in both Greek and English is essential

Our Community Cat Care Project is the largest cat population management programme in Greece, focusing on sustainable, humane cat population control through TNVR (Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return), municipal partnerships, and community collaboration.

As Community Engagement & Education Lead, you’ll design and deliver education and outreach activities that increase public understanding of responsible cat care, sterilisation, and coexistence with free-roaming cats. By working with residents, schools, businesses, seasonal visitors, and local animal welfare groups (LAWGs), you’ll help create cultural change and lasting impact for cats and communities alike.

📧 Send your CV and a short cover letter (max 300 words) to flora@animalactiongreece.org
